BITTEN BY THE BLOG BUG


Hahaha. So this is a blog. Pardon the ignorance. ;)

I was JUST bitten by the BLOG bug, you see, and now I'm waiting till the sting creeps into my system... and then i shall decide if i like the feeling of it or not.

I guess this is officially Blogging 101. An unguided course on the basics of blogging. The type of course that one doesn't prepare for at all, he simply takes the plunge. I was never the diary-writing type. Nor the techie who programs and makes websites. I don't know what i'm doing here! Maybe the adventurer in me led me here, maybe I was just too idle (even though I have lotsa things to do), or maybe I was destined to blog (whatever!),but what the heck, i'm here. =)

Here I am again, engaging in an online activity that could potentially get me hooked. Oh well.Yes, after being hit by the Friendster frenzy, the Blog bug bit me.

But of course, Friendster's more popular, more addictive (I suppose), and thus the bigger hit. Is it better? Hmm... that's a difficult question to answer.To evaluate which of the two is better would do both injustice. They cater to different people, to different needs. They belong to different realms.

Friendster is the online slumbook.Blogging is a journal, be it private or public. Friendster aims to reach out to friends, it is a social activity.Blogging is a self-activity. It is, more than anything, an attempt to reach within, to grab those pent-up thoughts and feelings, pull them out into the open, and expose them in cyberspace.



STOP. What on Earth am I saying? Who am I to talk about these things?I, the first-time blogger, who has a 30-minute old account? Bwahahaha. ;POh well, I guess that's another thing about blogging. No censorship. (Not that there's anything censor-worthy too, mind you.)I mean, no editors to tell me to snip this, kill this paragraph, rephrase this statement, check the spelling, and whatever else. Neat. (Um..I was an editor in our high school paper...so I guess I'm reacting in behalf of the staff.. against me and the rest of the editors... Hahaha.But then again, I think that's empathy.:P)

Nobody else. Just me.Well, anyone can comment, though.And that would be GREAT.

Hmmmm... where was I? Nah, never mind. It's 10:37pm, and I better get myself some shut-eye. Sigh. Time zooms by. It always takes me a long time to write. Oh well.



I guess I'll be going now, and look at that!My first blog.

I better go before you roll your eyes and ridicule me for my stupid fascination of blogs.Oh well. It's MY blog, and it's WONDERFUL to have my own microscopic corner in cyberspace.

And oh, I'm 17 and living away from my family by the way, to pursue my studies.I guess this has also given me my own private space. Kinda like this blog.

I'm not sure, though, if these own "spaces" i have are going to fun, but i'm sure of one thing though: my living-away-from-my-family-and-friends story is for another blog.
